Sunburns and new rings!

Happy Memorial Day!!

Today I went to the Gypsy Caravan (a HUUUUGGE outdoor flea market/craft show in St. Louis) and acquired two new vintage scarves, a vintage clutch, and one BEAST of a sunburn. Yikes!

I think I would have enjoyed myself more if it hadn't been 23921323 degrees outside.

I also realized today how much I've been slacking on my diet!

Adam and I try to eat about a 50% raw food diet...60% on a good week.

Well...let's just say that the number has gone down as of late.

So I've been searching these two sites(which are both fantastic raw food sources) for inspiration / recipes!

We will see how this week plays out!

Ring time! : )

The "Funfetti" Bow Ring! (this is quite possibly my favorite out of all my rings!)

That's all the rings for now, but I have some great earrings to list soon (some of which you can see in the ring pictures)!

Everyone have a great evening! Thank you all for your love and support! It means the world to me!

Daily Outift Doodle #4

Here is my outfit from this past Sunday.

^^ My mom bought me this little bunny pin (WHICH IS A BOOBLEHEAD!!!) and she claimed I had nothing that would go with it.

So I set out to prove her wrong. : )

^^I'm realllllllyy loving my new white t-straps!! I waited several days before buying them because I am trying to save up for some fancy wedges but couldn't resist - plus they were only $9! And they fit like a dream. <3

Thanks to my friend Taylor I have fallen in love with my mini backpack again (she has a little pink one!)... PLUS it's from Japan so it's extra special to me.

Everyone have a great Tuesday!

Doodles for Friends (and clients!)

Hullo!
Happy Saturday night!

(concept art for stylist Deidra Lutz)

My weekend officially starts now (though tomorrow is going to be another super busy day!) and I'm soaking up a few minutes of "me" time before bed. Said time includes browsing the archives of Drop Dead Kawaii (new most favorite blog ever!) and being overwhelmed with inspiration. Sadly my eyes are droopy already and my husband is finishing up a bible study so it will be time for lights out soon. But real quickly I wanted to share a few pieces I've recently done for clients. I love doing custom work- especially for family and friends. Nothing is better than drawing something special for the people you love and seeing their faces light up.

But enough talking! : )

To the art!

^^A blog header I did for my sweet friend KellyBeth!

^^ Final design for hair stylist Deidra Lutz for business card designs.

"Brothers" - for a special little family who just recently welcomed little Elihu!

Cheerleaders!

Done for a personal friend for birthday party invitations.

Do you have something you'd like me to draw? E-mail me (bunnesandbows (at) yahoo (dot) com!) and we can discuss ideas and pricing!

EDIT: Just realized this is my 100th post! Hooray!!

Veggie pizza fixes everything.

It's true!

This past Saturday I had off from the art school so I accompanied some dear friends to a craft show. It would have been such a lovely time if it weren't for the rain. And the wind. And the cold. And our products being ruined by said elements.

But then someone said the word "pizza" and we knew it would all be okay!

So here are my lovely friends Corinna (left) and Jillian (right) enjoying their delicious Imo's pizza. : )

I'm off to the tattoo parlor with my momma. ; )

Guess what!?

I made some rings!!

I am so so excited to get these photographed and in the shop!

Yay!

I had the longest but greatest day. Totally didn't turn out as planned but it was full of good pizza and great friends and an incredible house show. I'll share more on that tomorrow. : )

Goodnight!

A few weeks back I attended the Indie Craft Revolution with my dear friend Connie Boone. Connie and I met at the show when we both participated last year - but we paid our fees pretty late in the game and got stuck in a tiny corner together. But it was so great because I made one of my dearest friends! We decided to attend it together this year to celebrate our "friendiversary!" We only got a few hours together but it was so nice to see her again! The last time had been on New Years Eve sipping wine and singing Beatles karaoke. : )

Love you Connie!

And Angelina was there! She is beautiful and such a sweetheart and makes the most incredible things. I'm pretty sure I wear one of her polymer clay rings almost every day.

I really hope to take part in ICR next year!
---

Today both the hubs and I are off from work - we are lazing around now but plan on having a nice little picnic in Forest Park (rain, stay away!) and then hitting up the comic book store to get our geek on.

Oh! And bubble tea is a must.

Doodle Tunes

Hey guys!

I'm currently at my parents house doing laundry (yes, my life is that glamorous) and listening to some of my favorite tunes while I doodle.

I thought I'd share some of those tunes with you all, so you can see what I'm rocking out to when I create my art. I think you can definitely tell I listen to a lot of Jpop (Japanese pop music)!

I have been a huuuge fan of jpop for the past 11 years of my life...and I don't see it ending anytime soon! It's such a great way to study the language. And I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how exciting it was to see all of my favorite artists on billboards or hear them/see them on TV when I was in Japan! I'm used to no one knowing what I'm talking about so to see it /hear it everywhere was such a treat!

1. YUKI - Maiagare

2. Moumoon - Moonlight (this song always played on the big screen at Tachikawa station - ahh memories!)

3. Moumoon - Do You Remember?

4. Shiina Ringo - Ariamaru Tomi

^^This song is the theme for the Japanese drama Smile (one of my favorites of all time!) and lately I rediscovered it and have been playing it constantly!!

5. Shiina Ringo - Kuki (Stem)

^^Shiina is like the Japanese answer to Bjork - but better. : ) x10.
--

I also wanted to share with you the drawing I made for my mom for mother's day - the one of her in her garden.

I don't have access to a scanner - sorry for the crummy photo booth pics! I'll try to scan it soon!

I'm off to make some jewelry!

New Earrings in Shop!

I am a lucky lucky girl.

I have the most beautiful and talented and generous friends.
Last tuesday my friend Taylor walked into our church community group with pink hair.

I died.

I wanted to put her in my pocket forever and carry her around with me always.
(Sorry Taylor, it's creepy, but true).
Of course, I don't think her husband would like that very much, and instead I got the next best thing: Taylor modeling my new earrings!

And my sweet friend KellyBeth took the pics for me!

Yay Taylor!
