Happy Halloween!

Adam and I are fortunate enough to have awesome Halloween parties to attend every year - which makes dressing up even MORE fun!

Last year was out first year as a married couple - and we were grass fed beef (which is very good for you)!

THIS year we totally rocked it as John the Baptist and his favorite snack, Locusts and Honey!
John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. - Matthew 3:4

The small patch around Adam's neck had more fake locusts inside (I also pinned one to the outside but you can't see it very well).

I sculpted the beehive out of styrofoam...

..and my locust wings were classic pantyhose over wire!

The locusts I made from little wooden craft ovals, paint, and felt (for the wings!).

It was a lot of fun to make!

And it was a great night with our dearest friends!

Happy Halloween! Stay safe!

The Perfect Night.

It was one of those nights you just can't plan...
..and it made me so thankful for the life I live and the amazing life partner God has given me!

Here's to many more nights like this one!

Hey look! I'm a teacher!

I don't ever really get to post much about my other other job - that is, the "big" one.

My teaching gig.

For those who don't know, my grandmother June W Kelly taught art lessons in the area for over 40 years. When she passed we couldn't stand to see it end, so me and another former student, Danny, took it over. When my parents moved their business, a custom framing shop called the Hall of Frames, we decided to fulfill one of my grandma's greatest wishes - to move them into the same space.

It's amazing. Not because it is always fun, or always perfect...things don't always go smoothly. But because I know it's where God has called me to be at this moment in life, and for that reason alone I am going to cherish it (because that is the most important reason...ever).

Bonus points include teaching the most incredible kids and seeing them learn and grow (and produce amazing art!!).

This past weekend we had our annual Student Art Show and it was a smashing success!

(our invitations)

This was actually the first year we had it in the new building which is super exciting!

And as always my mom did an awesome job with the theme/decor.

And hey! People came! Even though all the balloons on the outside signs floated away! ; )

And...let me tell ya folks..there were some cookies.

..just a few.

Yay! I am blessed.
