New Tattoo!

It's finally done!!

Amanda Pepper (Thunderdome Tattoo St. Louis) is amazing and you all need to get tattoos by her, pronto.

I designed this tattoo with a drawing my mother did in mind. It's a young girl reclining all fancy like with flowers everywhere. I was really wanting a sort of floral shoulder/arm tattoo and have always thought the drawing was beautiful and it just kind of went from there! After I got the outlining done I decided the front of it looked kind of unfinished, so Amanda did some freehanded awesomeness and now it looks complete!

Don't mind my derp face. I was a bit out of it after 2 1/2 hours of laying down/having a needle shoved into my skin. : )

It was worth the pain though!

I'll try to post some better pics of it when it's all healed up!

ps. I have a pretty incredible opportunity tomorrow that I can't wait to tell you about!

Shop Update: The Alphabet

Hey guys! Here's another update for the shop! This was a commission for a wonderful little girl named Violet (look at the letter V!) and with the client's permission I'm offering it as a print for everyone. Yipee!

Wonderful Things: Riley Construction

So I wasn't planning on doing a Wonderful Things post tonight, but then April Tate from Riley Construction (you can see the dolls she made of myself and my husband here) posted these cupcake dolls on facebook and I about died.

You guys. I cannot even stand the cute right now. She IS a cupcake!! Beautiful dolls like this are just so sweet and inspiring to me!

I need one of these bunnies in my life!! Obviously.

The best part about April is how kind and great she is to do business with! It's so great to know that the person you're supporting is pleasant and loves what they do. You should all go buy up her shop right now! I want her to be in business forever. : )

Tattooed Momma

I went with my mom to get her 2nd tattoo today! Her first one she got for her 50th birthday, and this one was for her 52nd! We went back to Amanda Pepper (Thunderdome Tattoo in STL) and got to see her awesome new workspace, complete with a princess canopy! You can see one of Amanda's amazing abstract works in the picture above.

Cute things!

And here it is! Simple, sweet, and perfect for my mom.

I'll be back to see Amanda next week to finish my arm/shoulder tattoo! I'm pretty excited!

Daily Outfit Doodle: Neutrals

For the sake of being real, this is actually the 2nd day in a row I've worn this outfit. I do this on weekends, especially. Mostly because I want to spend as much time with my husband as possible since I see him so little during the week, and if I already know what I'm wearing then that's more time spent on him and less on picking out outfits.

Also it's super comfortable!

Details: Leather Bow // Red Velvet, Shirt // Gifted from my friend Taylor, Skirt // Squasht by Les, Leggings // Target, Boots // Forever 21

Also I apologize for the grainiest photos of all time. There is seriously not one spot in our home that has decent lighting during the day. : ( Hopefully our next home will have amazing natural lighting!

Sunday Sketchbook #4

It's been a while since I've done one of these! I've enjoyed doing this in the past and will try to make it a more regular thing! It keeps me motivated to keep sketching throughout the week!

I bought myself a pink sketchbook a few weeks back and thought it would be fun to fill it up only in hues of pink, purple and blue. Let's see if I can stick to that! Expect to see lots of girly doodles in the coming weeks. : )

Wishing...I could take a nap! I stayed up waayyy past my bedtime last night and then had to get up early this morning to run errands before work. I'm not much of a nap-taker (I can't stand sleeping my day away) but a 10 minute power nap would be pretty wonderful right now!

Looking forward to...getting my tattoo all colored in on the 29th! It's been a long process and I'm so excited to get it completed! Also a date night tonight with my husband. <3

Craving...popcorn. My husband and I started eating Paleo (you can read more about it here!) a few weeks ago, and so far I'm feeling pretty good! I am definitely missing popcorn though, one of my favorite snacks. I plan on doing Paleo 90% of the time so I will sneak it in here and there. My main reason for the diet switch is to try and heal my digestive system. It's super sensitive and eating more processed foods really messes me up. But I'm really liking it so far! And my skin seems to be clearing up(!!!)!

Obsessed bows. This is an ongoing obsession, but I had some money stored up in my paypal account that I didn't know about from various sales and commissions and have been stocking up on some amazing new bows on etsy! There are some really neat patterns on there (cats! dogs! bunnies!). One day I will probably think they are ridiculous, but right now I think they're amazing. Also cod liver oil. Yes. That is right. I'm convinced it is making my head clearer and my skin brighter and just doing all sorts of amazing things in my body.

Drawing...a commission of some lovely friends of ours. Also some new art that just keeps popping in my head! I definitely go through ups and downs with my creativity but right now I'm full of ideas!

Thankful for...our church community. I love those people like family. Also my sweet, hard working husband. Our wonderful home. My amazing job! I am so blessed.

Shop Update: The Magic Trick

Here's a new piece up in the shop! You can get it here in an 8x10. I'm obsessed with her hair and wish it were on my head.  I'll be printing some 5x7's tonight so look for those soon. : )

Wonderful Things: Caitlin Shearer

I decided to start a new feature here on the blog for all of the things I find exciting, inspirational and beautiful...Wonderful Things!

The first in the series are these amazing dresses by Australian illustrator/textile designer Caitlin Shearer.
I literally stumbled upon these about 10 minutes ago..(blogging in real time! whoo hoo!) and am already saving my pennies for one of these beauties. Her etsy is also full of her wonderful illustrative work!

Everything about them is so perfect! The cut, the styling, the details...just look at those sassy mermaids!

This one...I can't even stand it. It is just so perfect. This is one of those times I wish money grew on trees so I could buy one of each, and then one for each of my friends.

You can buy all of these beauties (and make me very jealous) right here!

Christmas Commissions!

Now that Christmas is all over I wanted to share some of the commissions I worked on!

I had so much fun working on these and it's always so much fun to be a part of someone's Christmas!

If you would like any custom work done I am currently accepting commissions. Email me at bunniesandbows (at) yahoo (dot) com!

I had an incredible winter break...but back to the ole grind tomorrow though! I'm adding another class to my schedule, so now I'm teaching 4 days a week! I can't even believe it..just a few year ago I started with 3 students total (one was my little brother). It's amazing to see how much it's grown! I am so blessed!
